RocketFeed, operated from Singapore (“we,” “our,” or “us”), is the provider of the RocketFeed financial news aggregation application and website (the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your Personal Data in compliance with applicable international data protection and privacy laws.

1. Collection of Personal Data

We collect Personal Data that you voluntarily provide to us when you use the Service. We do not process sensitive personal data such as financial account credentials.

1.1 Data You Provide Directly

Account Data: Your email address, authentication identifiers, and account creation timestamps, used solely for secure access and account management.
Profile Data (Optional): If you choose to create a profile, we collect your username, first and last names, and profile picture.
Portfolio Preferences: Information used to generate personalized financial insights, including stock tickers, portfolio holdings (quantities and allocation preferences), and investment preferences. This data is processed exclusively for personalizing your news experience.

1.2 Subscription and Payment Data

If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment providers collect the information needed to take payment. What we hold, and what we do not, differs:

We do not receive or store your card details. Card numbers, expiry dates and security codes are collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor, and are never transmitted to our servers.
We store subscription status only: which plan you hold, whether it is active, cancelled or expired, when the current period ends, whether you are in a free trial, and an identifier linking your account to your subscription with our payment providers.
Billing records such as receipts and payment history are held by Stripe and RevenueCat, who provide them to you and to us for support and accounting purposes.

We use this data to give you access to the features of your plan, to support you if something goes wrong with a payment, and to meet accounting and tax obligations.

1.3 Data Collected Automatically

Usage and Technical Data: Device type, operating system, app interactions, feature usage, and error/crash reports are captured to monitor platform performance and reliability.
Notification Data: Device notification tokens and preferences, collected if you authorize push notifications.

2. Use of Personal Data (Purposes)

We use your Personal Data for the following purposes:

To Provide and Personalize the Service: Delivering personalized financial news feeds, generating news summaries, and sending relevant alerts based on your portfolio preferences.
To Manage Subscriptions: Determining which features your account can access, processing payments and renewals, and handling cancellations, trials and refunds.
Service Improvement: Analyzing usage data to diagnose issues, enhance platform reliability, and develop new features.
Security and Legal Compliance: Preventing fraud, abuse, or misuse of the Service, and complying with any applicable laws, regulations, and court orders.

We maintain a strict policy of not selling your Personal Data to third parties.

3. Disclosure to Third Parties and Outsourcing

We engage verified third-party service providers (“Data Processors”) to perform essential functions on our behalf. These include:

Cloud infrastructure and hosting.
Authentication and account management.
AI-powered content processing and analytics.
Push notifications and performance monitoring.
Payment processing and subscription management — Stripe (payment processing) and RevenueCat (subscription management). These providers receive the information necessary to take payment and to tell us whether your subscription is active.

These Data Processors are only permitted to process your Personal Data solely for the performance of their designated services, and they are contractually obligated to adhere to appropriate data security standards.

4. Cross-Border Data Transfer

As RocketFeed operates globally, your Personal Data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside of Singapore (e.g., the United States, where our cloud infrastructure and our payment providers are located).

We implement safeguards to ensure your Personal Data remains protected in accordance with this Policy and applicable laws, which may include relying on legally approved data transfer mechanisms.

5. AI and Automated Content Processing

RocketFeed employs automated systems and third-party artificial intelligence services to summarize financial articles, detect relevant stock symbols, and rank content relevance. These processes are applied to publicly accessible content and metadata and do not involve private communications or real-time trading decisions. The Service does not provide financial advice or execute trades.

We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

6. Data Security and Retention

6.1 Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures, including access controls and encryption, to safeguard your Personal Data against unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal, or similar risks. Access to Personal Data is strictly restricted to systems required to operate the Service.

6.2 Data Retention

We retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable laws.

Active Accounts: Data is retained for the duration of an active account status or as necessary to fulfill service obligations.
Account Deletion: Upon a formal request for account deletion, Personal Data will be purged from our systems within thirty (30) days, unless legal mandates or legitimate business requirements (such as fraud prevention) necessitate longer retention.
Billing Records: Records of payments may be retained for longer where accounting, tax or anti-fraud obligations require it, including by Stripe and RevenueCat under their own retention policies. Deleting your account does not delete records we are legally required to keep.
Anonymized Data: Usage data and aggregated analytics may be retained indefinitely in an anonymized form.

7. Your Privacy Rights

You have the following rights regarding your Personal Data:

Access and Correction: You have the right to request access to or a copy of your Personal Data, and to request correction of any inaccurate data.
Withdrawal of Consent: You may withdraw your consent for the collection, use, or disclosure of your Personal Data at any time. Withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to provide certain features or services to you.
Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account and associated Personal Data.
Data Portability: You have the right to receive your Personal Data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.
Objection to Processing: You have the right to object to the processing of your data where such processing is based on our legitimate interests.

You can exercise most of these rights by managing your in-app settings (e.g., updating portfolio data, changing notification preferences) or by contacting our Data Protection Contact.

Cancelling a subscription is separate from deleting data. You can cancel a paid plan at any time from the subscription management page linked in the app; this stops future billing but does not by itself delete your account.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via the platform interface or the email address associated with your account. Changes are effective immediately upon posting and will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date.
